About Colusa County
Colusa County -- which contains cities such as Sycamore, Colusa, Williams, College City and Arbuckle -- had a population of 21,411 in 2012, an increase over its 2000 population of 18,804. The ethnic makeup of the area is 55% hispanic of latino, 40% white non-hispanic, 1.4% American Indian or Alaska Native, 1.3% multiracial, and 1.2% asian, and 0.8% black non-hipsanic, making the county one of the more diverse in the state.
The size of the county is 1,151 square miles, with a low population density of only 19 residents per square mile. Private institutions employ three-fourths of the population, while 10% is self-employed and 16% is employed through government entities.
